Black Friday Shopping Ads: What to Fix Three Weeks Out
Three weeks before Black Friday is too late to rebuild a store and just right to stop it breaking. Most of what goes wrong on Google Shopping that week could have been fixed in early November.

The short answer
To get Google Shopping ready for Black Friday (November 27, 2026), clear product disapprovals now, submit Merchant Center promotions early so they pass review, set peak-season handling and transit times, make your return policy and shipping costs match your website, and label your best sellers so campaigns can put budget behind them. Then leave the structure alone during sale week.
Why three weeks out matters
Google reviews products, promotions and policy changes before they show. A disapproval you find the Tuesday before Thanksgiving can cost you the whole weekend. Black Friday falls on November 27 this year and Cyber Monday on November 30, so the useful window is right now.
The checklist
Clear your disapprovals and warnings. Open Merchant Center diagnostics, sort by the number of products affected, and fix the cause in your store or feed. Don’t delete and re-upload products to get around a disapproval.
Submit promotions early. Merchant Center promotions are reviewed before they run. Set them up with the exact dates, codes and conditions your store will honor.
Set peak-season shipping times. Carriers slow down in late November. Update handling time, transit time and order cutoffs so the delivery dates Google shows are dates you can meet.
Match your return policy and shipping costs to your website. Google compares what you entered in Merchant Center with what your site says. Mismatches are a common cause of account warnings, and holiday return windows count.
Check sale prices on the product page. If the feed shows one price and the page shows another, the product can be disapproved. Schedule sale prices in the store and confirm the feed picks them up.
Label your best sellers. A custom label on your top products lets your campaigns give them their own budget instead of sharing it with slow movers.
What not to do during sale week
Don’t restructure campaigns, swap feed apps or rewrite every product title the week of the sale. Automated bidding needs time to settle after big changes, and the weekend you need it most is the worst time to reset it. Raise budgets on what already works and leave the rest alone until December.
Shopify and WooCommerce stores
Most stores we see feed Google through Shopify’s Google & YouTube app or a feed plugin on WooCommerce. Both sync on a schedule, so a price change in the store doesn’t always reach Google right away. After you schedule a sale, spot-check a few products in Merchant Center. For apparel brands with hundreds of size and color variants, the details in our Google Shopping feed optimization guide matter more than any bid change.
Whether you ship from a warehouse in Central Jersey or a back room in Red Bank, the Merchant Center rules are the same. That’s the part of ecommerce marketing we check first, before any money goes into ads.

Follow-up questions
As early as you can, with the exact dates, codes and conditions your store will apply. Promotions are reviewed before they show, so leaving them to sale week risks them not running at all.
Usually a mismatch. The price, availability or shipping cost in the feed doesn't match the product page, or a policy detail is missing. Fix the source data in your store or feed, then let Google review it again.
On campaigns that are already profitable, yes. Raise budgets before the busy days instead of after they run out. Avoid launching new campaigns or restructuring old ones during sale week.
